Winterizing Kit

The Chicken Fountain™ Winterization Kit includes ten (10) copper rods and a replacement cap that accommodates the use of a submersible heater. The copper rods' thermal conductivity efficiently transfers heat, keeping the drippers from freezing.

The submersible heater is not included.

Your submersible heater, sometimes called bird bath de-icer, needs to be small enough to fit inside the main body. We recommend not exceeding 250 watts.

The use of this kit will not prevent the water source or garden hose from freezing. If The Chicken Fountain is subjected to extreme weather, alternative measures may be necessary.  Reach out to us for guidance on setting up your Fountain for your climate.

The copper rods and slotted cap can be used year around and are compatible with apple cider vinegar or any other water-soluble additives.
